Earth Day, of course, is more than a symbolic commemoration. It is meant as an inspiration for people to rally around initiatives that will alleviate the state of the environment. It is that day in the year whereby the mere occasion itself is enough to call people to action.

With the Greenpeace report, the console wars transcended a mere battle for better graphics, better game play, and better storyline. It has also become a battle for the title of being the most environment-friendly machine. Sadly, neither the Xbox 360, the Sony Playstation 3, nor the Nintendo Wii can be adjudged the winner. All of them are culpable of environmental crimes.
So, How Successful Was Earth Hour ’09?
Organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Earth Hour is an annual event that invites countries and cities from all over the world to one hour of non-electrical existence. It is believed that the electricity saved within this hour would provide a big difference in preserving nature’s resplendence, if not its very existence. How fared this year’s event?
